But, mom! Everyone’s doing it!

Posted by Trisha on August 4th, 2008

I went on a quest to apply for more jobs today. Apparently it’s hard to find a job with the hours I want. Oh, well. Anyway, The recurrent theme was “We do it online now.” Borders, Michaels, A.C. Moore, Panera Bread…all do their applications online. The only ones who don’t that I applied to are [...]

Free Photoshop Anthology E-Book

Posted by Trisha on June 2nd, 2008

As an avid Photoshop user, I am very excited about being able to download a FREE e-book for Photoshop! If you are a Photoshop user, I highly recommend downloading this book while you can. It’s free for the next 10 days. It’s got 9 chapters and over 270 pages. I haven’t perused the whole thing [...]

Online communities

Posted by Trisha on September 24th, 2007

If you’ve read my blog, even sporadically, you probably know that I have twins. When they were 4 months old, and only about 6 weeks removed from the NICU (and just days removed from oxygen and Apnea monitors), we moved to North Dakota where dh got his first job at KFYR in Bismarck. Being so [...]

Wikipedia under fire

Posted by Trisha on August 15th, 2007

I don’t use Wikipedia very often. On the occasions that I do use it, it seems very helpful and a fairly good source. I found it interesting that you could edit your own entries and supposed that it was simply to be able to add to it as things developed. I hadn’t thought of the [...]

New browser

Posted by Trisha on August 13th, 2007

For about the last year and a half I have been using a browser called Maxthon. For me, it was a good combination between the tabbed browser of Firefox and IE. I had tried Firefox, but found that pages like MSN games and some of the message boards I frequent did not show up properly, [...]

Oh, my! My blog was linked on the WSJ’s website!

Posted by Trisha on August 1st, 2007

When I logged into WP, my dashboard showed an incoming link from “Primetime Blog.” I had no idea what this was, so I clicked on the link to check it out. It turns out, it’s the Wall Street Journals website. I perused the home page to see if I could figure out why or how [...]

We are live!

Posted by Trisha on July 23rd, 2007

Host 4 Family has gone live! Our new website is up and running!
I am quite pleased with myself in that I was able to design it myself. I know squat about html, but I learned a lot in the design process!

Beatboxing Flute player

Posted by Trisha on April 14th, 2007

As a flutist I found this fascinating. The flute is the hardest instrument to play because 90% of the air goes over it, as opposed to in it (like trumpets or saxophones). I can not imagine how much harder this would be to do!

Is Left-Leaning Google Censoring Right-Leaning Websites?
May 22nd, 2006
Something frighteningly ominous has been happening on the Internet lately: Google, without any prior explanation or notice, has been terminating its News relationship with conservative e-zines and web journals.
At first blush, one can easily ignore such business decisions by the most powerful company on the Internet as being [...]
